What Are We Fighting For? What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? There’s no more unity, no more community Family ‘vin on the streets, Everybody on the streets No more, no more, no more, can’t take it no more Everybody Lying, cos they’re trying To repeat, some kind of philosophy, They don’t know anything, the man that knows something sing That he knows nothing at all What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? Can’t take it no more, take it no more, don’t want to take it no more. Deep Vibrations, cross the nation It could save our soul Save our soul. Deep Vibrations, cross the nation It could save our soul Save us all. What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? Can’t take it no more, take it no more, don’t want to take it no more. After all these years, After all these tears, Cried myself to sleep Nights after night, eve All the time you stay, I and you’ll remain I’ll never forget, your love Let’s be lovers, You’re love, under cover If you cover up yourself, How can anybody help you? Be vulnerable, let the light in Everybody’s had a past, We’ve all sinned, It’s ok not to be ok, As long as you sing What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? What are we fighting for? Can’t take it no more, take it no more, don’t want to take it no more.

State is flow artist Jammaz Jamz releases debut single ‘What are we fighting for” featuring Blue Jay. Both artists hail from London and had a chance meeting, over spilt beer in Notting hill.

“We started writing music even before we formally introduced ourselves.”

Jammaz Jamz, London Underground Musician and bass player for Asian Dub Foundation has created a project called Jamz Living Room Session (youtube), where the idea is to write, record and film a brand new song in one session, most of the time the artists are meeting for the first time too. This song was born out of one of these highly anticipated sessions.

What are we fighting for is a song about the individual battles we all face and how that translates globally into the reality and confusion we all as a species feel everyday. “Its ok not to be ok”

Directed by Toby Corton, The video is filled with a sense of community, and celebrates our differences as the factor that makes each one of us unique.
